Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Live Gemini (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses your personal data when you visit this website, apply to take part in our productions, or otherwise contact us. We are the data controller for that personal data. We process it in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (“UK GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
Live Gemini, [registered company name], a company registered in England and Wales under company number [number], registered office [address]. You can contact us about this policy or your rights at [[email protected]].
2. The data we collect
When you submit a creator application we collect the information you give us: your name or creator name, your confirmation that you are 18 or over, your location, your social media or creator page links, your contact details, the opportunities you wish to be considered for, and how you heard about us. If you upload photographs or video we collect those images.
If you vote or register to vote we collect your name and email address, and a record of the votes you cast.
We also collect limited technical data automatically, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and how you use the site.
3. How and why we use it
We use your data to assess and progress your application, to contact you about casting and creator opportunities, to run and verify public votes, to operate and improve the site, and to comply with our legal obligations.
Our lawful bases are: your consent, where you have opted in to marketing or newsletters (you may withdraw it at any time); the performance of a contract with you, or steps taken at your request before entering into one, where we assess and administer your application; our legitimate interests in running our productions, securing the site and preventing fraudulent voting; and legal obligation, where the law requires us to keep or disclose records.
Where you tick the box to receive news, updates and marketing emails from us, you are giving your freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous consent to being added to our email marketing list and to receiving those emails, under Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR and Regulation 22 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003. That box is never pre-ticked and is not a condition of applying or of being considered for any opportunity. You may withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send you or by emailing us at [[email protected]]. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it, and will not affect your application. Every marketing email we send will identify us and give you a means of unsubscribing. Consenting to marketing is separate from your consent to be contacted about a specific casting or creator opportunity you have applied for.
4. Sharing your data
We share personal data with our production partners, casting team and service providers (including hosting, email and analytics providers) who process it on our instructions. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data where we are required to do so by law or to protect our legal rights. Where data is transferred outside the UK we rely on adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement, or the Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.
5. How long we keep it
We keep application data for up to 24 months after the relevant casting round so we can consider you for future series, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Voting records are kept until the vote is closed and verified. We keep data longer only where the law requires it.
6. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to be informed, and to request access to, rectification or erasure of your personal data. You may also restrict or object to our processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. You will not have to pay a fee, and we will respond within one month.
To exercise any right, contact us at [[email protected]]. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would ask you to raise it with us first.
7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the site, and, with your consent, cookies that measure how the site is used. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, and withdraw consent to non-essential cookies at any time.
8. Children
This site and our casting process are intended for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and material changes will be notified on this page.
